The snow is gone!

All that snow you saw in my last post finally disappeared. This is what our summers are supposed to look like. But, we have lots of surprises. Less than two weeks after those pictures were taken, we were hit by one of the heaviest downpours on record. Out for the evening, on the drive home we witnessed a dazzling display of light and sound. It was a thunderstorm like none I had ever seen before. Though spectacular, it was also frightening. Cars were caught in the underpasses and many homes were flooded.

The sun always comes out again in Alberta. The flowers grow as do the trees. But not the vegetable garden. The soil isn't that great and the trees need the moisture. So, a decision was made; we'll grow rocks this year!

This is what we came up with. What is special about this little corner in the yard is that you can enjoy the warmth of the sun while you have your morning coffee. And it's quiet. Plus, in the evening, it's cool. No more weeds to worry about either.

So, do you take yours black, or would you like some cream and sugar?

What a relief to see that the snow is finally gone. Nice job with the rocks and "going with the flow" of gardening realities in your neck of the woods!

With cream please :)
I finally put a picture with my profile so I'll leave a comment and then you can see it! Off to have a bath and read my latest books - one is BK and the other is on potty training...could you pick two more different genres?! I think Anna is teething. She has been pretty grizzly and so unlike herself, poor lass. She'll wake up and cry her head off. So better get in that bath cause one never knows when one will be needed these days (and nights!)
