According to sports writer Cam Cole, the crowd noise at Rexall Place last Saturday during the Oilers game was "like an air force flyover. . . .Like the sound of an earthquake echoing inside Candlestick Park in 1989." Edmonton hockey fans could probably use some of these hearing protectors seen at a recent World Cup game.
If the Oilers lose, I'll likely need some too - to drown out those sour grape broadcasters in Calgary who can't bring themselves to admit there is another team in Alberta that did much better than their fizzled Flames.

We should probably include a set for Craig MacTavish. I think he's had it with all the armchair coaches. They've obviously forgotten just how much history he's been making with this upstart giant killer of a team of his.
AFter last night's game, might as well add some rose-tinted goggles. OUch. That was not pretty to watch, especially the second period. Without some stellar saves from Markannen it could have been worse.
Not to worry. The hockey gods are just teasing us. All we need to do is get Jim Rome to interview more Oiler players. Don Cherry thinks it might have something to do with good and bad karma. But, what does he know. I'm thinking the slipper may still fit the boys in blue. Let's hope. If it doesn't, we'll give it to the boy from Sherwood Park.
Perhaps we should get a set of these for Lev and go to watch the fireworks competition in Calgary this summer. Now THAT is a display!
